Forbo’s version of linoleum is called Marmoleum and is available in sheets, tiles or in the user friendly “click” format (NOTE: we have installers who are able to install it in whatever format you would like, even in designs for those using sheets). It is an amazing material formed from natural, readily renewable ingredients. Its long service life reduces the demand on landfills and the need to produce replacement flooring although it’s biodegradable when no longer needed. There is no asbestos, formaldehyde or other hazardous ingredients in the product and no toxic by-products are released during the manufacturing process. It’s durable, anti-static (meaning that it’s easy to clean) and bacteriostatic (meaning that it won’t harbour micro-organisms). Because Marmoleum is a natural product like wood, it is warm and comfortable and can even be used with under-floor heating. Best of all, it also comes with a sense of European style and is available in a variety of colours.
Note: Although Marmoleum is a great floor for all environments, Marmoleum Click has an HDF (high-density fibre board) in its construction and shouldn’t be used in environments where water consistently puddles for more than 30 minutes at a time. Kitchens and powder rooms are normally fine but you may want to avoid bathrooms with showers and tubs.
